3 iPhone Features I Actually Use 📱✨
There are a LOT of iPhone features that get overlooked, but these are three that I genuinely use.
📷 Scan QR Codes from Photos
Companies love putting QR codes in screenshots, emails, and social media posts... like we're not actively using the phone the QR code is on. 😂
Just open the image and tap the QR code.
💡 If it doesn't work, make sure Live Text is turned on:
Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Language & Region ➡️ Live Text
✨ Liquid Glass
I know this one has mixed opinions...
But I LOVE the Liquid Glass design.
If you want to try it:
Settings ➡️ Appearance ➡️ Liquid Glass
🔊 Independent Volume Controls
This is probably my favorite quality-of-life feature.
Now I can keep my alarms loud while turning my ringtone down, so random calls don't wake me up if I forget to turn on Do Not Disturb.
Go to:
Settings ➡️ Sounds & Haptics ➡️ Turn off Match Ringtone Volume, then adjust each volume to your liking.
What's your favorite iPhone feature right now? 👇🏽
One often overlooked feature that combined really enhances my iPhone experience is the ability to scan QR codes right from my photo library. Many times, I receive screenshots or images with QR codes in emails or social media posts and find it super convenient to just tap on the QR code in the photo to open the link, instead of having to scan with the camera. Just make sure "Live Text" is turned on in Settings under General → Language & Region, which enables this handy function. The Liquid Glass design is visually appealing and adds a modern, sleek look to your phone interface. I initially hesitated because of mixed reviews, but after trying it, I found it really freshens up the iPhone's appearance without affecting performance. You can activate it easily from Settings → Appearance → Liquid Glass, and it’s a great way to personalize your device. My personal favorite is the independent volume controls. Before discovering this, I struggled with alarms being too quiet or ringtones being too loud at inconvenient times. Now, I can keep my alarms loud enough to wake me without having my ringtone disturb me during meetings or at night. Just toggle off "Match Ringtone Volume" from Settings → Sounds & Haptics and then customize each volume independently. This simple tweak greatly improved my daily sound settings. Aside from these, I recommend exploring other lesser-known iOS features like Focus modes, Back Tap shortcuts, and Siri Shortcuts which also save time and enhance user convenience. iOS 17 continues to introduce new tweaks, so keeping an eye on software updates helps you make the most of your iPhone. What’s cool about iPhone’s ecosystem is the continuous blend of useful functionality and clean aesthetics, making it fun to discover practical tips that simplify everyday tasks.
