you DON’T NEED these tiktok shop items
Listen; normally I am the devil on everyone’s shoulder telling them to buy things they definitely don’t need; but these three have been popping up in my feed a lot recently and I am shocked with what these sellers can get away with.
The divoom times gate is a big one. It’s cool looking— but is it 100 dollars cool looking? Not at all. Functionally it does nothing except sit on your desk and light up; which I was really ready to let it do! Until I clicked the link and saw it’d be over 100 dollars for me to get it.
Same with these speakers— for 80 dollars you can absolutely get a better speaker (or you can get the same one on aliexpress for 65). 30 dollars isn’t awful, but again; cheaper on aliexpress where you can get it for 14 or even 9 dollars.
Sometimes I partake in tiktok shop, but man… we need to do some better de influencing on it lol. They’ve got a pretty sweet money making set up here— they loose a few bucks by sending your average tik tok user a product for free with the only stipulation being you need to make a positive video about it— and in turn that video becomes free advertising for you. It’s interesting to me how unregulated this is 🤔
