My latest adventure with my sister was a whirlwind 72 hours eating our way through South Florida, hitting up hotspots in Boca Raton and Delray Beach. If you're looking for the best places to eat, buckle up – because we've got some delicious recommendations for your next visit! First up, let's talk pizza. We stumbled upon two absolute gems. 'How Ya Dough'n' in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach completely blew us away with their incredible sourdough pies. You know how some of the best culinary stories start? This place began as a pandemic passion project, with the owner just passing the time in their kitchen. Fast forward, and fans were buying 100 pizzas a week! Now they have three locations, and it’s easy to see why. We tried their Pistachio La Ratori and the Hot Mozz – both uniquely delicious. But if you're indecisive like us and can't pick between sweet and savory, you absolutely have to try their Dubai Chocolate pizza. It’s an experience in itself! And for a classic, 'Death by Pizza' in Delray also delivered some serious slices that had us craving more. For something a bit more upscale and unforgettable, our favorite meal from the entire trip was the omakase at Sunset Sushi. Located at Ali Cat in Boca Raton, this was a true highlight. They offer a stunning 16-course experience over two hours for $160 per person, and honestly, it’s worth every penny. The majority of the nigiri were made with incredibly fresh fish, and seeing the artistry unfold in front of us was just magical. My sister had never done an omakase before, and it was the perfect introduction! Another fantastic dinner spot was Warren in Delray Beach. While it boasts one of the largest whiskey collections we’ve ever seen, we were totally captivated by their food. Their rainbow roasted cauliflower was surprisingly divine, and the wagyu French dip was simply melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Of course, no South Florida food tour is complete without some essential casual stops. For the best tuna fish salad bagel you’ll ever have, 'Bagels With Deli' in Delray Beach is a non-negotiable. It’s our go-to spot every time we’re in town. And when we needed a refreshing pick-me-up or a healthy reset, 'Raw Juce' in Boca Raton and 'Fresh Kitchen' in Delray Beach were our saviors. We literally don't enter the state of Florida without hitting up Fresh Kitchen – their bowls are just that good, and we'll do anything to get them! Finally, if you’re looking for a sweet treat to cap off your day, keep an eye out for places like 'Whit's' for a classic frozen custard. Seriously, South Florida has an incredible food scene with something for everyone.
