... Read moreFrom my experience trying out The Salad Shop’s 1KG salad bowl, I can attest to the fullness factor—this meal truly keeps you satisfied well past lunchtime. One of the standout aspects is the precise macro information offered for each ingredient, which makes it an excellent choice for those who track their nutrition meticulously. The broccoli rice base combined with a mix of warm and cold sides like roasted turmeric cauliflower and beetroot hummus adds delightful layers of flavor and texture. While the hot sides arrived at room temperature, which was a bit disappointing, the overall freshness and taste made up for it. The beetroot hummus, in particular, was impressive with its creamy, tangy profile that pairs well with the crunchy mixed greens. Portion size-wise, the protein choices such as pesto sous vide chicken and lemon garlic chicken thigh come generously, contributing to a high protein intake upwards of 70 grams in a single meal. Considering the price of $14.80 for nearly 1KG of food with customizable options—for bases, cold and warm sides, proteins, and various toppings—the value is commendable for anyone looking for a wholesome and hearty lunch in the CBD area. The environment at the café is spacious but tends to get noisy and crowded during peak hours, so arriving early is advisable to avoid queues. Despite the high foot traffic, the service remains efficient and friendly. If you’re after a quick, nourishing meal that offers both quantity and quality, The Salad Shop is certainly worth trying. Plus, their commitment to providing detailed ingredient weights is a huge bonus for maintaining a healthy diet. Would I go back? Definitely, especially on days when I need a filling meal that balances taste and nutrition.
