Easy recipes for lazy people pt 5: Salmon Butter Rice with just rice cooker

I am super into cooking ricecooker meals where you just dump everything into the rice cooker and get your dinner settled.

Here's 1 recipe that I cook on REPEAT: Salmon Butter Rice

- Add your rice, salmon (defrosted of course), veggies (can alternate between broc, corn, mushroom, depending on what you have in your fridge) all into the rice cooker. Cook the damn rice. I love my Zojirushi rice cooker cos of the music it plays when the rice is cooked haha, special shoutout.

- When it's about 5-10mins left, add a teaspoon of butter, one tablespoon of soy sauce and pepper. Mix and mash everything.

- Added the steamed sweet potatoes as a side dish here cos I was feeling peckish. If you are a big eater or love variety, you can always fry an egg or have a tofu with ponzu sauce as your side dish.

Eat well. Be well. ✨️

... Read moreAs someone who values both convenience and tasty home-cooked meals, I find using a rice cooker for entire dishes like Salmon Butter Rice to be a game-changer. The beauty of this method is how everything – rice, salmon, and vegetables – cooks together at once, allowing flavors to meld without needing multiple pots or pans. A key tip is to choose the right rice cooker setting to match your rice type, such as white rice or mixed options, to ensure perfect texture. I personally love using the "Keep Warm" function after cooking, which helps maintain warmth without overcooking. Adding butter and soy sauce near the end of the cooking process really elevates the dish with rich, savory notes. Peppers add an extra kick, but you can always adjust seasoning to your preference. The image's OCR mentions a Zojirushi rice cooker with options like sushi, quick reheat, and mixed rice settings – these versatile functions make it easier to customize your cooking style. I’d recommend experimenting with different vegetables based on what you have at home; broccoli, corn, and mushrooms all work beautifully. For extra protein or texture variety, pairing the rice bowl with a simple fried egg or tofu with ponzu sauce is excellent. Steamed sweet potatoes as a side dish add a natural sweetness and heartiness to complement the savory main. Overall, this recipe fits perfectly into a busy lifestyle or lazy day when you want a satisfying and wholesome meal without the fuss. Give it a try and tweak ingredients according to your taste – you’ll find it becoming a repeat favorite in your meal rotation!
