Enter BIOS setup by pressing the designated key during startup (usually F2, F10, DEL, or ESC) and check the boot sequence. If your hard drive is not detected, it could indicate hardware failure or a loose connection. If the disk is detected but the error persists, the system partition might be inactive or the MBR corrupted. You can use Windows installation media to access the recovery environment and run commands like 'bootrec /fixmbr', 'bootrec /fixboot', and 'bootrec /rebuildbcd' in Command Prompt to restore the boot sector and repair boot files. Backing up important data before attempting repairs is crucial, as these operations might risk data loss if performed incorrectly. For users unfamiliar with command-line tools, utilizing third-party repair tools or seeking professional help can be wise choices.
