The Cat Distribution & My Luck
This cat was outside a gas station in Georgia, and it kept following people, meowing and asking for help.
Now I've seen many videos and have read many stories of the cat distribution system bestowing their gifts to other people--but it never happened to me...
UNTIL TODAY...
AND UNFORTUNATELY, I COULDNT TAKE THIS KITTEN HOME.
Why?
Because...
1. I'm on a roadtrip and I'm not in my local area. This kitten needed medical help and I'm not anywhere close to being prepared to have a kitten that requires a slew of vet bills to start with.
2. Because this kitten is a stray and in need of medical attention, I couldn't even bring it into the car cuz of my dog. The cat would've been terrified and uncomfortable for the whole time I would've had it, and I don't have any box or carrier to keep it in to keep them separated.
3. I'd need to buy cat food (dry and wet), cat bowls, cat towers, a cat bed, and all the necessities. I don't have the money for that.
4. We're on a roadtrip. It would've been a week of taking care of this medically-in-need cat before we could get him to the vet. And we have things we have to do on this roadtrip because it's not really a vacation. Also the people we're staying with know we don't have a car and they also have a dog that is not very nice, so it definitely wouldn't have worked.
5. Fiancé said no.
To say that I'm upset that this had to happen during this time, would be an understatement. I was ready to cry when it started rubbing against my ankles and ALL I WANTED WAS TO BRING IT HOME AND GET IT HELP. BUT I COULDN'T.
I pray and hope someone does take the poor kitten in and get it help. It's unfortunate that I couldn't but I hope someone has the heart to help.
