It's been an incredibly stressful week, so being able to wind down with movies has been really helpful😅 I hope you're doing well:)
Here's some movies & my opinions that no one asked for
🍿The Creator 2023: Netflix 9.7//10
At this point idk what would be a perfect 10//10 movie, but this one is amazing. Hans Zimmer wrote the music, the acting was great (even the child actor!), and it was such a good story line that kept me on my toes. This is a stunning movie about post nuclear war with extremely advanced AI, while a grieving soldier- whose orders were to destroy an enemy weapon- but instead forms a bond with it when he learns the weapon is a young android child.
🍿American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice
2017- Tubi - 7//10
One of those "I watched it so you don't have to" movies. heavy on the gore/ torture porn. a grieving man returns to his childhood home in hopes of summoning a goddess to help mutilate himself. Cinematically, it was very good. I loved the camera angles and the style it was filmed in. definitely good gore and a lot of blood. TW for self harm obviously, and don't watch if you're uncomfortable, but it was a pretty decent movie for me
🍿Loop Track 2023- Tubi. 8//10
It was a really great movie and extremely nerve wracking up until the reveal. I was so sad this didn't have a better ending than it deserved. A man having a nervous breakdown traveling through the new zealand bush, runs into other hikers, but can't shake the feeling that something is stalking him. You can really feel the energy from the actors & it felt very real - i have a sweet spot for lost in the woods thrillers - but idk what i was expecting the ending to be, it just wasn't that.
🍿Cannibal Mukbang 2023- Tubi 7//10
It really sounded like the acting was one of those AI ad stories that are everywhere, but the drama and the plot was really good even tho predictable. The main character reminded me a lot of my ex, so I had some weird emotional tie to the movie that kept me intrigued. mild gore/ focuses a lot more on blood spatter and plates of meat. overall a decent watch
