Está bien querer lograr tus metas. El problema es vivir pensando que la felicidad empieza “cuando” algo pase.
Disfruta el proceso también. Porque si no aprendes a ser feliz hoy, ninguna meta se va a sentir suficiente. ❤️
Many of us set goals thinking that happiness will come only after achieving big milestones—like losing weight, finding a partner, moving out, graduating, or earning more money. But this mindset can create a cycle of waiting and postponing joy, leading to constant dissatisfaction. I used to do the same, always thinking, "I'll be happy when..." but it never felt enough. Over time, I learned the importance of appreciating the process and finding happiness in daily moments. Happiness isn’t a destination—it’s a way of traveling. For example, rather than waiting until after graduation to feel proud, I started celebrating small accomplishments along the way, which made the entire experience richer and more fulfilling. The image quotes perfectly capture this: "When I lose weight, I’ll be happy," "When I have a boyfriend, I’ll be happy," or "When I earn more money, I’ll be happy." There will always be another goal, and if we only tie our happiness to these achievements, we postpone joy indefinitely. My advice is to shift your focus—from tying happiness solely to future events to cultivating gratitude and contentment now. Try mindfulness practices, savor little victories, and connect with what truly brings you peace in the present. This not only enhances your well-being but also makes chasing your goals more meaningful and satisfying. Embrace your goals, but don’t let them be the only source of your happiness. Being happy today, amidst your journey, creates a fulfilling life rather than an endless chase for the next "when."
