🌙 I Missed the Moon… But It Didn’t Miss Me

I missed the New Moon in Cancer yesterday.

But it didn’t miss me.

This moon stirred me — not loudly, but in subtle ways:

➤ A moment of silence I didn’t expect

➤ A flood of memories from my childhood

➤ A realization that I’ve been carrying anxiety in a quiet, lifelong way

The truth is…

I’ve always been a helper.

A smiler. A doer. A “she’s always okay” kind of woman.

But behind that strength is something else:

➡️ A little girl who was anxious but didn’t know what to call it.

➡️ A teen who stayed home from events not out of fear — but anxiety.

➡️ A woman who built so much… while holding so much.

And this week, I shared that with my daughter.

And with my granddaughter — who’s navigating anxiety herself.

🧠 Jung says: Your shadow isn’t what you hide — it’s what you avoid healing.

🦁 Machiavelli says: Power isn’t in being liked — it’s in being aware.

🧘🏽‍♀️My Flip Affirmation:

“I honor my softness. I protect my sanctuary.

This is my reign — and it begins with me.”

💭 Flip Reflection: Answer Me This…

What part of you still tries to "hold it together" for everyone else?

What would happen if you told the truth about what you need?

... Read moreThe New Moon in Cancer often brings reflection on our emotions and past experiences. This phase encourages us to delve into our inner selves, examining feelings that we may usually avoid. Many people find that they hold onto anxiety, presenting a façade of strength while suppressing their true feelings. This internal struggle can affect not only personal well-being but also relationships with loved ones. As shared in the reflection, passing down experiences from one generation to another can create a supportive dialogue about mental health. It is crucial to address the emotions tied to our childhoods, especially as we witness younger generations navigate similar feelings. The acknowledgment of anxiety as a common emotion can foster a culture of openness where healing is prioritized. Incorporating practices like mindfulness or affirmations—such as “I honor my softness. I protect my sanctuary”—can empower us to recognize and address our needs. The journey involves understanding that vulnerability is not a weakness but a strength that promotes healing. Tools for self-care during significant lunar phases can provide grounding and guidance, impacting daily routines positively. Additionally, exploring themes from psychology, like Carl Jung’s notion of the shadow self, can offer deeper insight into what we may overlook in our internal struggles. Overall, this New Moon can serve as a poignant reminder to explore the intersection of our identities, past experiences, and the healing that comes from acknowledging our true feelings.
