From my experience, the sweet spot is usually between 4-6 minutes at a consistent oil temperature of 350°F (175°C). You want to make sure your oil is preheated properly. I used a deep pot and a thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature, which is crucial for even cooking and preventing a soggy mess or a burnt outside with a cold inside.
