2 things I’ve used to save money 💵

It not easy to save money but in this economy…

1. Cash Envelope Binder- Currently doing a 52 week (1 year) Challenge; Each week represents a $ amount.

• Every Paycheck take a certain amount of money out the bank put as much or little money into the envelope (envelopes) and basically get into the habit of: Out of Sight Out Of Mind

2. Budget Planner- For me personally writing things down really puts things into perspective.

• Being able to track your expenses and due date for everything helps take just a lil bit of pressure off your mind. Making sure you’re using your money wisely: Every Dollar Counts.

*We’re all trying to have Financial Freedom.

**Go at your own pace

***Don’t feel pressured if you forget

... Read moreHey everyone! I know saving money can feel like a huge mountain to climb, especially with everything going on. But I truly believe that with the right tools and a bit of discipline, anyone can make significant progress towards their financial goals. My original post touched on my favorite two methods, but I wanted to dive a little deeper into how they've genuinely transformed my money habits and how you can implement them too, especially if you're looking for ways to save money effectively in today's world. Let's talk more about the Cash Envelope Binder system. When I first heard about it, I was skeptical, but it’s been a game-changer! I started with the classic 52-week challenge, where you set aside a specific amount each week – starting small and gradually increasing. The beauty of this "CASH ENVELOPE BINDER W/ BUDGET SHEETS" is the physical act of moving money. Every payday, I take out a set amount of cash, divide it into my envelopes for different categories (like groceries, entertainment, or a specific savings goal), and then, it’s literally "out of sight, out of mind." This method isn't just about saving; it's about building a tangible relationship with your money. It feels more real than just numbers in a bank account. For those weeks when it felt challenging to put away a larger sum, I'd sometimes swap weeks or put in a smaller amount, reminding myself, "go at your own pace" and "don't feel pressured if you forget." The key is consistency, not perfection. This binder truly acts like a personalized "money saving notebook," making you accountable in a visual and immediate way. Then there's my beloved Budget Planner. Oh my goodness, writing things down makes such a difference! Before this, my finances felt like a tangled mess in my head. Now, using a spiral-bound "BUDGET planner," I dedicate time each month to fill out my "MONTHLY Breakdown." This means tracking every penny of my income, meticulously listing out all my expenses (from fixed bills to variable spending), keeping an eye on debt payments, noting subscriptions, funding my sinking funds for future goals, and, of course, tracking my savings challenges. Seeing everything laid out – including the "monthly totals" – puts everything into perspective. It's not just about restricting yourself; it's about understanding where your money actually goes. When I started, I was shocked at how much I was spending on things I didn't even value! This "money saving journal" approach helps me identify areas where I can cut back without feeling deprived, and also anticipate upcoming due dates, taking so much pressure off my mind. Both of these tools work hand-in-hand to help you save more money. The cash envelopes help you control immediate spending in specific categories, while the budget planner gives you the big picture and helps you plan for the future. In this "stay at home economy" where online shopping can be tempting, having a clear budget and knowing exactly how much cash you have allocated for discretionary spending can prevent impulse buys. It’s all about being intentional with every dollar, because truly, every dollar counts. Remember, financial freedom is a journey, not a destination. Start small, be consistent, and adapt these methods to fit your unique lifestyle. You've got this!
