32 Week Pregnancy Update
This week, my bumper group toured the hospital we will be delivering at. (I posted a full video over on YT) We chatted about the different rooms, manual induction processes, pain management, and golden hour procedures. I’m pretty excited about this hospital, and hope it will be an entirely different experience than last time.
Baby girl is confirmed to be head down, but still sitting very high. Her feet are all up in my ribs, giving me immense pressure when I try to breathe. She also moves constantly, except for a few naps throughout the day.
We are finally starting to physically and mentally prepare for arrival. We are in the early stages of prepping a hospital bag, taking inventory of nursery items, and have a bassinet ready (thanks Auntie Lolo!)

But honestly, feeling those strong kicks and wiggles is the most reassuring thing, a constant reminder that she's thriving in there. This week's hospital tour was such an eye-opener and really helped me feel more prepared for what's ahead. If you're nearing your third trimester, I highly recommend asking about a tour of your delivery hospital. We got to see the different labor and delivery rooms, understand how manual induction processes might work, and discuss all the pain management options available – from epidurals to gas and air. Learning about the 'golden hour' right after birth was also so valuable; it's that precious time for immediate skin-to-skin contact with the baby, and knowing the hospital’s policy on it really put my mind at ease. It’s not just about the physical space, but understanding the procedures and support systems available. Speaking of our little one, at 32 weeks, babies are doing so much developing! They’re gaining weight rapidly, and their lungs are still maturing. It's fascinating to imagine my '32 week fetus in womb' and all the intricate details. They're practicing breathing movements, blinking, and even dreaming! Knowing all this makes those constant kicks even more special. We're really getting into the thick of 'delivery prep' now. Beyond just packing the hospital bag – which, let's be real, feels like packing for a small vacation! – we're taking inventory of nursery items and making sure everything is ready. This includes getting the bassinet set up. It’s not just the physical items though; there's a lot of mental preparation too. I've been reading up on what to expect during labor and those early postpartum days. While 'pregnant delivery symptoms' are still a little while away, understanding what potential early signs to look out for, like Braxton Hicks contractions becoming more frequent or feeling a surge of nesting energy, is helpful. It's all about feeling as ready as this 'pregnant woman' can be for the biggest adventure yet!
