You HAVE to do these 3 things in Positano!

Italy is such an incredible place but it can be so hard to navigate through all the information on what to do. If you’re headed to the Amalfi Coast, Positano is a super cute (and busy) town and here’s what ya gotta do:

- Rent a boat and see Positano from the water! It’s truly a beautiful sight to see it from the water and you can head out to see the many beautiful grottos as well as the island of Capri!

- Take a cooking class! I love a good cooking class to meet locals and learn about the culture and they are especially fun in Positano!

- Head to Music on the Rocks one night! This club is in a cave and is such a fun clubbing experience.

... Read moreWhen I was planning my Positano adventure, I knew capturing those postcard-perfect, iconic views was high on my list! Everyone sees those amazing photos of Positano, with its colorful buildings cascading down a steep hillside right into the sparkling blue sea, and I was determined to find the best spots to experience it myself. One of the absolute best ways to really soak in the majestic coastal beauty of Positano is, without a doubt, from the water. Taking a boat trip isn't just about cruising; it truly offers an unparalleled perspective. As you glide along, you see the entire town spread out before you, the vibrant hues of the houses creating a stunning mosaic against the green cliffs. This "Positano from the sea iconic view" is something you simply can't get from land. I remember being on the boat deck, champagne in hand, just mesmerized by the sheer scale and beauty. It's the perfect vantage point to appreciate the unique iconic architecture and understand why this place is so famous. You can literally see how the town seems to defy gravity, clinging to the mountainside. Don't forget your camera because the photo opportunities are endless! From out on the water, you can also grasp the layout of the coastline, spotting hidden coves and distant horizons, perhaps even catching a glimpse of the famous Faraglioni rock formations near Capri. But the iconic views aren't just limited to the sea! For those breathtaking panoramic views from land, you absolutely have to explore. Many of those classic shots you see are often taken from higher vantage points. While hiking up the winding paths, I discovered numerous spots offering incredible vistas. A particular stretch along Via Cristoforo Colombo provides some of the most famous and accessible 'Positano iconic view' photo opportunities. From here, you get that quintessential sweeping panoramic view of the entire town, with the dome of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta standing out amidst the houses, all framed by the incredible Mediterranean Sea. Seeing the town light up at twilight from these viewpoints is magical – the lights begin to twinkle, and the whole scene takes on an ethereal glow, just like in some of the most stunning photos I’ve seen. Another tip for capturing these views is to wake up early! The soft morning light can be incredibly beautiful for photography, and you'll find fewer crowds. Or, as mentioned, stay out until twilight to see the town transform. Whether you're on a boat deck looking back at the village or standing on a scenic overlook along Via Cristoforo Colombo, taking the time to seek out these iconic views will make your Positano trip truly unforgettable. It’s not just about seeing the sights; it's about feeling the magic of this incredible Italian gem.
