Have you spent years overriding yourself.

Maybe you don’t have a confidence problem.

Maybe you’ve just spent so much time overriding yourself that you stopped trusting your own voice.

You learned to second-guess your feelings.

Talk yourself out of your needs.

Say yes when you meant no.

Stay longer than you wanted to.

Keep the peace at your own expense.

And eventually, you start wondering:

“Can I actually trust myself?”

The good news? Self-trust can be rebuilt.

Not through becoming more confident overnight—but through small, consistent moments where you listen to yourself, honor your needs, keep promises to yourself, and allow yourself to change your mind.

Start with one question today:

“What do I already know, but keep talking myself out of?”

That answer might be worth listening to. ✨

Save this for the next time you find yourself second-guessing you.

... Read moreOver time, I realized that constantly overriding my own feelings created a disconnect that wasn’t just about confidence—it was about not trusting my own judgment. This article’s reminder struck a chord with me: self-trust isn’t rebuilt overnight but through small acts of honoring myself every day. In my experience, the hardest part is recognizing those moments when I silence myself. Like saying yes when I wanted to say no, or dismissing my feelings as overreacting. It took me a while to understand that these patterns were forms of self-abandonment, something the OCR slides clearly articulate. One practical step I adopted from this insight is committing to small promises. If I’m tired, I rest without guilt. If I need a boundary, I politely but firmly set it. These actions, though simple, are powerful statements that I am worthy of my own respect and care. Additionally, pausing before critical decisions to ask myself, "What do I already know?" helps me tune into my intuition before outside opinions overwhelm me. Embracing flexibility is also key. Allowing myself to change my mind without judgment has been freeing. It’s not about being perfectly consistent but about being true to what I need in the moment. Lastly, managing stress and overwhelm is foundational. As mentioned in the slides about nervous system regulation, I integrated mindful breathing and grounding exercises to create space to hear myself again. This restored clarity helps me rebuild self-trust by calming the internal noise that often drowns out my voice. For anyone feeling stuck doubting their own signals, remember: rebuilding self-trust is a journey worth taking. It’s through these small, consistent choices that we reclaim our voice and find peace within ourselves.
