HOW TO GROW YOUR GLUTES🍑
5 years ago my glutes were non-existent. I would dare to say they actually inverted.😂😭 If you’re on the skinnier side or naturally don’t have glutes don’t worry, you can GROW them! It might take some time, but with these 5 tips you will get there in no time⬇️
1. Glute focused workout x2-3/week. Make sure to rest at least 48 hours in between sessions! An example of a glute focused workout is hip thrusts, RDL’s, reverse lunges, kickbacks, and abductions. These are all exercises where your glutes are the main muscle group.
2. Progressive overload. This means increase the weight, load, or stress on your glutes overtime. You can achieve this by adding 5lbs to every lift every workout or adding 1-2 more reps per set!
3. Glute finisher instead of tradition cardio! This one was BIG for me. I love cardio and running, but it’s not optimal to overdo it for glute growth. So I still felt like I was doing cardio, I added 15-20 mins of a glute finisher at the end of my workout. This is often times walking lunges, sumo squats, sled pushes, and glute bridges!
4. Increased my calories. The more you workout the more calories your body will need to grow. I use to be scared to eat too much and get fat, BUT if you’re training hard & not eating junk food you will gain muscle not fat.
5. Protein after working out. This one is easy to do. After every workout I try to eat at least 30-40 grams of protein within an hour or so of training. This way my muscles can start recovering & growing.

Hey fitness fam! Building on those essential 5 tips, I wanted to dive a little deeper into some areas that truly accelerated my glute growth journey. It’s not just about showing up; it’s about smart strategy! First, let’s talk more about those glute-focused workouts at the gym. While compound movements like squats and deadlifts are amazing for overall strength, truly isolating the glutes can be a game-changer. Beyond the hip thrusts and RDLs mentioned, I highly recommend incorporating exercises like cable kickbacks with different angles (think straight back, then slightly out to the side for maximum activation), single-leg RDLs for stability and unilateral strength, and even good mornings. For me, mastering the mind-muscle connection was key. Before every set, I'd consciously squeeze my glutes. It sounds simple, but it made a huge difference in feeling the muscles work instead of just moving the weight. When performing exercises like walking lunges, focus on pushing through your heel to engage those glutes even more. Next up, progressive overload – it’s the secret sauce! Many people think it just means adding more weight, but there are so many ways to challenge your muscles. Once you're comfortable with hip thrusts, try increasing the reps within a set, adding an extra set, shortening your rest times, or even increasing the time under tension (e.g., slower negatives). Keeping a workout journal helps immensely to track this. Don't be afraid to deload occasionally too; sometimes stepping back allows your body to recover and come back stronger. Remember, consistency in challenging your muscles is what forces them to adapt and grow. And about nutrition, beyond just hitting your calories and protein, the quality of what you eat matters. I learned that fueling my body with whole foods helped me feel energized for my workouts and aided recovery. While I mentioned protein after workouts, don't forget about consistent protein intake throughout the day. It’s not just about one post-workout shake; your muscles need a steady supply. For those busy days, a quick plant protein smoothie can be a lifesaver, ensuring I hit my macros to support that hard-earned muscle. Making sure you’re getting enough healthy fats and complex carbs is also crucial for overall hormonal balance and energy. Finally, let’s talk realistic glute growth. It’s a marathon, not a sprint! Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see massive changes overnight. My transformation took years, as you can see from my 'BEFORE' and 'AFTER' pics. Celebrate small victories: an extra rep, a heavier weight, or simply feeling stronger. Consistency, patience, and truly enjoying the process are what will get you there. And always remember to listen to your body; rest and recovery are just as vital as the workouts themselves. Keep pushing, you've got this!

Simple but effective! 5 years...that's really disciplined. congrats on staying consistent. 👏
