... Read moreFrom my own experience, developing self awareness was a turning point that profoundly changed how I relate to others and myself. At first, I used to spend a lot of energy trying to fix friends and family members who were toxic or emotionally unavailable. But that often left me feeling exhausted and frustrated. Gradually, I realized the key wasn’t about healing others, but about understanding what drew me repeatedly to those challenging relationships. I started reflecting on my own patterns—why I felt unseen or drained, and what beliefs or fears underpinned those feelings. This wasn’t easy, but journaling and mindful self-reflection helped me identify unhealthy boundaries I had unconsciously set. By becoming curious rather than judgmental about these patterns, I empowered myself to set stronger boundaries and prioritize my own well-being. It turned out that healing within me altered the type of people I attracted and the quality of connections I formed. The phrase from the image, "Your assignment is not to heal toxic people. Find out what drew you to them. Heal that," truly resonated with me. It reminded me that personal growth starts inside and that we are not responsible for fixing others. I also found that a growth mindset was essential in this journey—seeing mistakes and discomfort as opportunities for learning rather than setbacks. Over time, this inner healing enriched my relationships and gave me more energy and fulfillment. For anyone feeling stuck in unfulfilling relationships, my advice is to pause and turn the lens inward. Explore what emotional or psychological patterns might be influencing your choices. Healing those parts of yourself can transform not just your relationships but your entire life outlook. Authentic self awareness is a powerful tool for lasting personal growth and happiness.
