Feeling safe doesn’t mean controlling everything in our environment; it means nurturing a sense of peace within, even when external chaos exists. One powerful practice I found helpful is repeating affirmations like, "I trust my body as a safe place to return to, not a place I need to escape." This helped me reconnect with my body’s wisdom and calm my restless mind. Disconnection often breeds insecurity and fear, but when you begin to stop shrinking or explaining yourself just to be understood, you start to soften into your true presence. Returning to oneself is a gentle but profound journey. It’s about realigning with your inherent truth and recognizing that the feeling of being unsafe was not because you were unsafe, but because you were disconnected from your inner self. Creating this emotional safety within enables us to face silence without fear and enjoy moments of solitude as comforting rather than unsettling.
