I made this video to educate you on the five essential skills in 2026 that I think you need to learn if you’re using AI. More and more of us are going to be becoming AI engineers for our specific roles.

... Read moreAs AI continues to evolve rapidly, it’s becoming clear that understanding how to work alongside AI technologies is not just a niche skill but a necessity across professions. One of the insightful points from the content is the concept of humans being the "last mile" in large language models (LLMs). Just as logistics systems rely on humans to complete the final delivery step, AI systems need human judgment, creativity, and contextual understanding to maximize their effectiveness. In addition to the skills listed—managing morphing systems, orchestrating agents, thinking like an architect, and developing taste and self-extraction—it’s crucial to also cultivate adaptability and continuous learning. AI tools and models are constantly updated and improved, so being able to quickly learn and adapt to new AI capabilities will set you apart. For example, managing morphing systems means treating your workflow as modular. This involves letting go of rigid attachments to tools or processes and being ready to swap in better AI models or methods as they emerge. From personal experience, when I started using different AI coding assistants, I realized the importance of not sticking to one platform but rather integrating multiple agents to achieve optimal results. Orchestrating agents is about more than just running multiple AI tools; it’s about harmonizing their functions to work towards a shared goal. In practice, I use orchestration platforms that allow seamless communication between AI agents, boosting productivity and reducing repetitive tasks. Thinking like an architect involves meticulous planning and context preparation before deploying AI. Instead of firing off numerous prompts impulsively, spend time structuring information and goals clearly. This approach results in higher quality outputs that stand the test of time. Lastly, the concept of taste and self-extraction resonates with developing a refined judgment of quality and consistently assessing user experience or client feedback. By compiling and analyzing your best work with AI assistance, you can uncover unique strengths and personalize your creative output, strengthening your brand. Overall, these skills collectively enable professionals to leverage AI not just as tools but as creative partners, enhancing productivity, innovation, and quality of work as we approach 2026.
