★★★★★ 5 out of 5 stars

Forget You Saw Her by Noelle Ihli absolutely grabbed me by the collar and refused to let go. I read this in less than 24 hours. Less. Than. 24. Hours. That was not a choice. That was survival.

From page one, I felt like I was clutching a live wire. Every chapter tightened the screws just a little more until I was sitting there like, “Excuse me, ma’am, I would like to get off this emotional rollercoaster immediately.” 🚨

Andrea deserved so much better. Isabelle deserved so much better. All I wanted to do was wrap them both in a blanket burrito of safety and stand guard with a baseball bat. The protectiveness this book unlocked in me? Unhinged. Ferocious. Slightly feral.

And the heartbreak. I am formally requesting glue and industrial strength duct tape because my heart is currently in glittering shards on the floor. Noelle Ihli did not just break it. She stomped on it in dramatic thriller fashion and then handed it back like, “Here you go.”

The pacing was relentless. The tension felt like a pulse in my throat. Every twist had me flipping pages like I was defusing a bomb with five seconds left on the clock. For my fellow thriller lovers, this one is pure adrenaline wrapped in emotional devastation.

Five stars. No notes. Just me sitting here staring at a wall, trying to recover. 🖤📖

... Read moreAs someone who lives for a good psychological thriller, I can tell you that Noelle Ihli’s "Forget You Saw Her" isn't just a book you read – it's an experience that grabs you by the throat from the very first chapter. I saw that it's described as a standalone prequel to "Ask for Andrea," and that context, even for a first-time reader of Ihli, really adds an intriguing layer. It's like getting a deeper dive into a world already teeming with secrets, without feeling lost at all. What truly makes this book unputdownable is how expertly Ihli unravels its many secrets. It's not about grand, shocking reveals every five minutes, but rather a slow, agonizing peel-back of layers that expose the raw, vulnerable, and often terrifying truths about its characters. Every new piece of information felt like a carefully placed puzzle piece, building a picture that was both disturbing and utterly compelling. You'll find yourself constantly questioning motives and desperately trying to piece together what really happened, making every chapter a suspenseful journey. The pacing is another masterclass. Each chapter is a tight, focused burst of narrative tension, building relentlessly. It creates this incredible momentum where you just have to know what happens next. It’s like the author knows exactly when to hit you with a revelation or a gut-wrenching emotional blow, keeping you on the edge. This isn't a book where you can comfortably bookmark and come back later; it demands your full attention, which is exactly what I look for in a top-tier thriller. For those of you, like me, who appreciate the aesthetic of a truly dark and enigmatic book, the cover of "Forget You Saw Her" perfectly encapsulates its mood. The imagery of shattered glass and that intense, dark background hinted at the fragility and brokenness within the story, even before I started reading. It's a visual promise of the emotional devastation and hidden secrets waiting inside. And if you're wondering about its place in the thriller landscape, or perhaps looking for a captivating book that might appeal to those who enjoy works published before 2020 (though this one feels timeless), Ihli's ability to craft intricate, character-driven narratives means her work stands strong. It’s a testament to good storytelling that it feels both fresh and classic. If you’re looking for a book that will consume your thoughts, keep you up late, and leave you emotionally drained (in the best way possible!), then "Forget You Saw Her" is an absolute must-read. It’s a testament to the power of a well-told story, packed with secrets and driven by an unforgettable narrative.
