Tuesday Status: 1 down, 2 to go. 🤒🎮
Jayden is officially fever-free and back at school today! 🙌 But Brynna is still fighting it, so we’re doing the cool rags, the onion socks, and all the vitamins to get her through. 🤒🧼
I woke up with a cough and my headache is finally easing up, but I’m sticking to my routine—nutrient-dense smoothies and plenty of vitamins. 🍓🌿
My morning looks a little different than planned. No Bible study in person today, but I’m finding that sometimes the best way to serve is right here within these four walls. 🕊️🏠
In between "patient rounds," we’ve been logging some serious time on Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. It’s not how I expected to spend my Tuesday, but I’m soaking up the snuggles and the family time while we wait for everyone to get 100%. 🍄🎮
The Surrogacy Update: 🕊️
Still no official word from our coordinator or the doctor, but physically, the reset is moving along. I’m finishing up this cycle now and getting ready to start back on the birth control pill to keep everything steady until the doctor/intended parents have a new plan. After nearly 2 years of constant hormone changes, I’m just taking it one day at a time!
The Gratitude: ❤️
A huge shoutout to Justin. Even though he’s not feeling great and isn't sleeping well, he’s still heading out to work to provide for us. So thankful for his hard work as our family breadwinner—especially with his BIG 3-0 coming up this Friday! 🎂
Dealing with flu season while managing a busy household can be exhausting, but incorporating nutrient-dense routines truly makes a difference. I've found that smoothies packed with fruits like strawberries and leafy greens such as spinach not only help boost immunity but also make it easier to consume essential vitamins when appetite wanes. Using natural remedies like cool rags and onion socks can be surprisingly effective for alleviating fevers and congestion in children, providing gentle comfort without medication. Beyond physical care, shifting plans and slowing down mentally has been necessary. Missing scheduled activities like in-person Bible study reminds me that sometimes the best service is present caring within the family. These moments create unexpected opportunities for bonding, especially when sickness keeps everyone indoors. Playing games like Super Mario Bros U Deluxe can add joy and distraction, helping maintain a positive atmosphere while waiting for full recovery. Regarding the surrogacy update, managing long-term hormone treatments requires patience and self-compassion. Taking it one day at a time and maintaining steady routines aids in navigating medical uncertainties. Strong family support, such as a partner who continues working despite feeling unwell, brings additional emotional strength. Overall, focusing on nutrient-rich foods, natural remedies, adapting daily plans, and appreciating family resilience have been key strategies to cope effectively during this challenging Tuesday and ongoing surrogacy journey.
