Spent 4hr+ for gown fitting 🤣

Less than 2 months to my wedding 🤡

Got a package from FP Bridal for 3 outfits each (kua + 2 gown)! So here’s my experience going for my gown fitting!

Before we started, I asked the staff whats the longest a couple took, she said max 3hr but guess who took 4+ hrs 😂😂

Selection wise, FP do have quite a wide range of white gown! Just need to be specific in the style you want and the staff will take out some options for you to try!

The staff was very friendly, she also went to look for gown one by one whenever I feedback for each fitting! Prolly that’s why it took abit long 😂

Context: I tried like 9 white gown and 10 evening gown 🤡

Gown 1 — ⭐️⭐️

This dress is nice but not ideal for me with a chubby back cuz I look like a tied dongpo rou and the cutting is not to my liking ☹️ + point this was the only dress with pockets 😂

Gown 2 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Was quite fond with this dress, love the chest piece design! But tbh very heavy and because its a new piece, its SUPER BIG, the staff have to use the huge as clasp to kiap but cuz its heavy it wasnt holding well 🥲 kinda hard to visualise it properly fitted to my body

Gown 3 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was nice too! But I felt that the off shoulder cutting made my upper body look veryyyy broad, and the v cut wasnt much of my preference and also very heavy 🫠🫠

Gown 4 — ⭐️⭐️

I honestly liked the corset concept but the chest piece with the floral pieces was not giving la 😂😂 my fiancé straight up 🙅🏻

Gown 5 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My sis said this is a vivienne westwood style 😂

It was surprisingly quite flattering, and the corset helps to reduce my waist line 😮‍💨 and another + point ITS NOT HEAVY 🤪

Gown 6 — ⭐️

Not part of my option, but the staff & my sis suggest to try so I did 😂 super super bling, if I’m hosting a big banquet maybe I would consider??? Maybe la

Gown 7 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was not bad! Liked the combination of satin and the floral chest piece but then again too much for my wedding setting 😂

Gown 8 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The was the 2nd last gown I tried, loved the cutting actually! The top was very structured and secured and liked the design kind of gives a smaller waist illusion. The satin was veryyyy light, not heavy at all which I love!

There was another one but once I tried it was a nope so no proper photo for that 😂😂

Keywords I gave the staff was — satin, no lace, simple, A line, mermaid and possibly corset design!

Long read but which gown did yall think I chose? Hehe will post part 2 for 2nd march in gown n our kua!!

... Read moreChoosing the perfect wedding gown can be a journey filled with excitement and surprises. Based on my long fitting session at FP Bridal, here are some tips for brides-to-be planning their gown fitting: 1. Be Clear on Your Style Preferences: Knowing what styles you like—whether simple A-line, mermaid cuts, or corsets—helps the staff select gowns that fit your vision. I gave keywords like satin, no lace, and structured cuts, which made the process smoother despite the many dresses I tried. 2. Don’t Rush Your Fitting: Although staff mentioned a typical fitting lasts about 3 hours, mine took over 4 hours because I wanted to compare many options. Take your time to feel comfortable and visualize how each gown works with your body shape. 3. Consider Comfort and Weight: Some gowns, especially newer pieces with heavy embellishments or corsets, can feel very heavy and uncomfortable after wearing for a while. I found some gowns beautiful but too heavy to wear all day, so balance style with comfort. 4. Bring Trusted Opinions: I brought my sister along, and her honest feedback was invaluable, including recognizing styles that flattered my figure or didn’t quite match my wedding vibe. 5. Don’t Be Afraid to Say No: Trying on multiple gowns showed me what worked and what didn’t; a gown might look stunning on a hanger but may not suit your body or style. It’s OK to pass on gowns that don’t feel right. 6. Take Notes and Photos: Document your favorites to help remember details, especially when you plan to post about your experience or consult with your tailor. Overall, the FP Bridal fitting was a memorable experience with friendly and attentive staff. Despite the long hours, I felt supported and informed to make the best choice. Stay tuned for my next update on the gown and kua selection for the big day!
