READING ON THE GO
I’ve officially gone through my list of books that I’ve had on hold that I’ve started but never finished 😅 and what’s kinda helped me was taking my reading outside of my bubble.
What books have you started but put down after the first five pages? And do you take your reading device out for a stroll?
I've found that changing my reading environment really revives my interest in books I had started but set aside. Taking your reading device for a stroll or simply reading outdoors can make a big difference. The fresh air and new surroundings help me focus better and actually enjoy the experience more. Sometimes, when I feel stuck after a few pages, I switch up the location—from a cozy cafe to a quiet park bench. This small change re-engages my brain and helps me connect with the story again. If you’re using an e-reader or a reading app on your phone, having it readily accessible during your daily commute or outdoor walks means you can sneak in chapters without having to carve out special time. Personally, I also found that reading groups and hashtags like #currentlyreading or #readingmotivation on social platforms encourage me to return to my book list actively. Sharing what I’m reading and hearing others’ opinions gives me fresh perspectives and pushes me to finish titles I had abandoned. For anyone struggling with unfinished books, I recommend experimenting with different reading spots and integrating reading into your routine moments. Small shifts, such as reading during lunch breaks or while waiting for appointments, add up to substantial progress and renewed motivation.
