Chambre Cheongsam Review

I visited Chambre two months before AD, chanced upon Colette and I was sold!! The minimalist design is rlly my style and for less than 300$ (promo price), I think it’s quite worth it.

Two weeks before the event, they’ll reach out to you to make an appointment for alternation and collection the following week (one week before AD). They have two seamstresses that are home based, one located in Woodlands and the other located in Sengkang.

I went with the seamstress located in Woodlands and Mrs Hemalatha was rlly nice! I’d recommend you to go for the alternation with someone that’s detailed oriented as you can see from photo 4, some places are too tight while some are too loose. The dress was altered to my measurements when I visited two months ago so when I tried it on during collection, it was a good fit and didn’t require any alterations. Mrs Hema is very experienced though so she’ll be able to make alterations on the spot~

Deposit of $300 has to be made after collection and it will be refunded upon return of the cheongsam. After my wedding, I realised I didn’t know whether to return the cheongsam to the seamstress or to the shop and I couldn’t get a hold of Chambre. Luckily I had Mrs Hema’s contact number and checked with her whether I could return it to her. Furthermore, they also didn’t inform me when the security deposit was returned..

I think Chambre’s communications can be improved but overall at this price point, I would say it’s worth it!

... Read moreFrom my experience with Chambre, the fabric quality truly matches the elegant minimalist design they promote. The silk material was smooth and comfortable to wear throughout my wedding day and tea ceremony. For those considering a bridal cheongsam, I would suggest getting measured well in advance, since Chambre’s two-week schedule before the event allows seamless coordination with their experienced seamstresses. If you appreciate subtle details, you'll find the modern ivory tones of their cheongsams very flattering for wedding photos. While Chambre offers good value, I recommend clarifying return procedures early on, especially regarding the security deposit, to avoid confusion post-event. The local home-based seamstresses, particularly Mrs. Hemalatha in Woodlands, stand out for their skill and attention to detail—key for achieving a tailored fit on your special day. For those exploring alternatives, some clients like floral prints or lace with beads in pastel shades, but Chambre’s streamlined minimalist approach really suits brides seeking sophistication without excessive ornamentation. If you plan a wedding dinner or want matching cheongsam couple styles, Chambre is a solid option worth considering within the Singapore bridal market.
