SAVE THIS: REVIEWING OUR WEDDING VENDORS 🎉

As a recently graduated bride, I hope this post helps BTBs who are shortlisting their vendors.

🌟Intercontinental Hotel🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: We had our wedding at the ballroom and the food received many compliments from the guests - especially the lobster noodle dish. We were slightly disappointed by the food at the food tasting but the chef really took in our feedback and improved the dishes. Although the food is marketed to be from their famous Chinese restaurant Man Fu Yuan, it appeared to us (we may be wrong) that the menu was designed by the Man Fu Yuan chefs but executed by a central kitchen under some supervision from the Man Fu Yuan chefs. Not sure if things are different on the actual day. In terms of coordinator, our original coordinator resigned close to 3 months to our wedding with 1 day notice given to us, was lacklustre in comms before that and kept pushing everything down the road. Our new coordinator Joey Mah did a good job in picking up the pieces and the banquet manager on the actual day was amazing and professional. Overall, I think it is worthwhile venue, especially with the freebies thrown in - live peking duck station, dessert bar? Macaron tower, free flow wine for 4 hours, 30% carpark coupons for guaranteed guests etc.

🌟Florist: Mirage Floral🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: This was the hotel florist and honestly we were so glad we did not bother engaging another florist. Millie was so accommodating and she agreed to move our solemnisation setup in the hotel to the church for a small transport fee which saved so much costs. The church pews turned out beautifully and the flowers were lasting. Will highly recommend working with Mirage for your wedding. She wasn’t money minded at all and when I told her my budget and concerns, she was v understanding.

🌟Gown: Thomson Wedding Collection🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: this was our first stop so honestly I was sucked into the hard selling (please be prepared to be firm and say no if you are not interested). I had no regrets for the decision though even though it was on the expensive side. Zart was my gown coordinator and he was very patient in helping me to find my perfect dress. He has very good understanding of gown silhouettes and their international gown collection is very pretty and unique. Got a dress from a Spanish designer Rosa Clara which received many compliments. Zart even advised on my other gowns from Rico and which ones would suit me better even though I only rented one gown from TWC. His candid comments always make my mom and I laugh.

🌟Rico-A-Mona🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: I signed a package with them which was very value for money. $3388 before GST for 2 gowns, 2 suits for actual day and 8 hour photography session with 3 gowns and 2 suits (including makeup). We paid extra to extend for 2 hours of photography so we had indoor photography photography and outdoor photography at Gardens by the Bay. There was a wide range of gowns and suits to choose from. Important to get a good wedding coordinator. The PWS was very worth it and the photographer Nicholas did such a good job. PWS makeup was not my style even though I showed her pictures beforehand. Our coordinators Jessie and May were quite sweet but they had an interesting dynamic.

🌟Photographer: Luvpersecond🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: We really liked his photography style and he was very sweet and hardworking. His same day montage was very well done and many guests liked it. We got a good deal too.

🌟Stella Ang Makeup🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: She is very skilled in doing complex hairstyles effortlessly but she was not very good at makeup. Even though I went for the makeup trial, my morning makeup wasn’t quite the same and I had to touch up my own makeup because it couldn’t last well through the solemnisation (which was indoors). She was late for the morning makeup because of an unexpected emergency but her service recovery was prompt as she arranged for a standby makeup artist to prep my hair in advance. Dinner makeup was much better though and she’s very friendly and cheerful. Go for her if you have a clear vision for your makeup.

🌟Kachow🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: Our Photobooth vendor was absolutely amazing and affordable. We were almost worried that we were going to be scammed cos it was so cheap. It is a lovely home-based business run by Malorie and she’s so lovely. Set up on the day itself went smoothly and our guests really enjoyed it.

🌟Bobochacha Balloon🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: The set up was correct and the balloons burst when the detonators were activated. The colours in the ballroom were beautiful when the balloons burst. The delivery or set up guy was late by about 35min so we were wondering if he was coming, if at all. It was quite scary.

🌟SG Bridal Cars🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: Found them on Carousell. Service was good and the decor turned out beautifully. Shaved off one star because my father in law knocked his car in the carpark because it was very old and narrow. Not difficult to return the items after the wedding and it was quite affordable overall.

🌟V for Vogue🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: Bought a cheongsam at their gown sale. It was very beautiful but it had to be altered to fit me better. In the end, my mom helped me to alter the gown to save money and it worked very well. My husband also bought a suit from their sister company, Man of Honor, for less than $200. He used this suit for our overseas PWS. We saw many nice mom gowns and outfits too though my mom bought hers earlier.

🌟Perfect Attire🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: My husband got his bespoke tailored suit from Perfect Attire when they were running their wedding promotion. He chose a more premium material so it was quite expensive but it turned out very well. He loves his suit and can use it for other events.

🌟BQueens🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: My mom bought her outfits from this place - it has since closed down. Her cheongsam and her evening gown received many compliments and were offered to her as a sale instead of rental for the same price.

🌟Love Bonito🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: My bridesmaids got their lilac dresses from here and it turned out very beautiful. One of my bridesmaids even got the same dress in a different colour.

🌟Wedding favours: Sonders🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: This was complimentary and part of the hotel package. Honestly we had a hard time working with Sonders because they were non-transparent about pricing. We wanted to swop out the invitation cards for prints but had quite a lot of trouble with this. Their prints are x3 more expensive than an external vendor but we were considering going with them to save the need of dealing with another vendor. However, the saving grace was the wedding favours, which were pretty tea tins in an assortment of colours and shapes.

For Church:

🌟Rasel🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: Food was fantastic and the live laksa stations at the church was very well received. We chose the flower theme Bohemian Rhapsody and it turned out so beautifully. Kelly Ang was very patient and went out of her way to accommodate our requests. Highly recommended.

🌟Kinsmen Coffee🌟

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

👍Why I like it: Javier was very polite and accommodating from the get-go. Not only the price was reasonable but service was excellent and we were assured that their coffee options will be good because they have cafes in SG. We added on a customised stamp which was a nice touch for the coffee cups. The coffee was very well received.

... Read moreIf you're planning your wedding and considering vendors, it's important to also think about additional services like personalized invitations and event styling. For example, when reviewing online wedding invitation companies, look closely at their customization options and pricing transparency, which can sometimes be less obvious until you dig in. Bachelorette party venues and planning services are other areas to research carefully. I found that some event styling services specialize in unique themes or antique decoration that can really elevate your celebration. Engaging a wedding planner who understands these niche offerings can save you time and reduce stress. Also, consider the coffee services or food stations for your event — small touches like customized coffee stamps or live food stations received terrific feedback from my guests. Always communicate your vision clearly with your vendors and see if they are willing to accommodate your needs within your budget. Finally, don't hesitate to ask for referrals or check online reviews for any vendor you are considering. Personal experiences shared by other couples can provide invaluable insights to help you avoid common pitfalls and select trustworthy professionals for your big day.
