SAVAGE KEEPING IS OLD COVENANT THINK

Stop demanding that others keep the Sabbath. We are not under the law. We are under grace. Stop judaizing believers and cause them to doubt the finished work of Christ as sufficient for their salvation. Stop preaching a different gospel of works and another Jesus whose blood wasn't good enough.

Commandment keeping won't save you, and your obedience to the commandments won't keep you saved either -- only faith in Jesus can do both.

... Read moreMany believers struggle with the tension between observing Old Testament commandments like the Sabbath and embracing the freedom found in the New Testament through grace. From my personal journey, I realized that focusing on strict law-keeping can sometimes overshadow the transformative power of faith in Jesus. It’s important to understand that the Sabbath, as part of the Old Covenant, served a specific purpose for Israel. However, the New Covenant, established by Christ’s sacrifice, emphasizes faith as the sole means of salvation. This doesn’t mean commandments are irrelevant; they reflect God’s character and guidance for a holy life. But salvation, as emphasized in the article, comes through faith in Jesus, not through works or observing particular laws. Many Christians find relief and spiritual growth when they stop feeling condemned for imperfect obedience and instead rest in God’s grace. This aligns with the message to stop enforcing Sabbath-keeping as a mandate for salvation, preventing doubts about the completeness of Christ’s work. In practical terms, embracing grace changes how I approach spiritual disciplines: instead of legalistic duty, Sabbath and other practices become opportunities for rest, reflection, and worship. This perspective helps avoid the deception the article mentions, where demanding law-keeping can lead to a different gospel focused on works, which Scripture warns against. Personally, letting go of the law’s burden has deepened my faith, allowing me to focus on a personal relationship with Jesus founded on trust and grace rather than performance. Ultimately, understanding this distinction also impacts how we relate to others in the faith community. Rather than judging fellow believers for their observance or non-observance of the Sabbath, it’s crucial to promote unity based on shared faith. This approach supports spiritual growth grounded in grace and faith rather than fear or legalism, reflecting the freedom Christ offers to all believers.
