Comfort food at its finest! This Salisbury Steak Supreme is easy to make, packed with flavor, and perfect for a cozy weeknight meal. It's also gentle on the joints – minimal chopping required!
**Yields:** 4 servings
**Prep time:** 15 minutes
**Cook time:** 30 minutes
**Ingredients:**
* 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
* 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1 egg, lightly beaten
* 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (check label for alcohol content – some brands are alcohol-free)
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
* 1/2 cup beef broth
* 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
**Instructions:**
1. **Prepare the meat:** In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the patties tough.
2. **Form the patties:** Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
3. **Brown the patties:** Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Remove patties from skillet and set aside.
4. **Make the gravy:** In the same skillet, add cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Stir until heated through and smooth.
5. **Combine and simmer:** Return the patties to the skillet. Add frozen peas and carrots. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
6. **Serve:** Serve the Salisbury Steak Supreme hot, spooning the gravy over the patties and vegetables. Enjoy!
