How I relax

All my life I know I’ve struggled with certain things and that would definitely be overwhelming myself with way too many tasks all at once. I absolutely love talking with people and I can get a lot accomplished in a short period of time that a lot of people seem to struggle with. But I would still have my days where I didn’t feel right

It’s interesting to think that it’s taken me so long to actually understand through the help of friends and other resources that I very likely have ADHD and possibly autism, which would be referred to as AuDHD. I guess I’ll know for sure when I go in for my testing here very soon to get to the bottom of it.

Granted over the course of time I developed some things that helped me destress and get my mind off of things that were overwhelming me.

And these are just a few of the things that I’ve picked up over the course of my life. I guess you could say I picked them up rather repulsively, but I enjoy them a lot because they help me destress and relax my very busy mind.

My first one is yoga!

I start every morning and end every night with it and a variety of other stretches, which helped my muscles and body just relax and get prepared for a busy day.

My second tool, touch grass!

I know that sounds really funny, but it’s real. I can get very overwhelmed, just simply being cooped up in the house. So every now and then I’ll typically either get outside go for a walk a short hike or even do some exercise exercises such as running. It helps me burn away a lot of additional energy I have and clear my mind.

Meditate~🧘‍♂️

Sometimes getting out the door can be a little difficult, especially if I’m feeling down or I just have too much going on. I’ll recognize this and just make myself some tea. Lite some mild incense that’s not too overpowering just to get the air smelling fresh. I’ll put on some really comfortable clothing because soft clothing just feels really nice. I’ll click on some relaxing tunes on the TV and get cozy in the living room. Then I just meditate occasionally sipping my Jasmine tea which really helps me calm down and relax.

COOKING!

I mean, everybody’s gotta eat at some point and I figure I might as well put my energy somewhere right? I also really just love food! Growing up I didn’t really have a whole lot, my family was poor and a lot of our food was super bland and simple. Overtime I started learning how to work with ingredients to make my food taste a little more interesting. Now when I know I have a lot going on and dinner is in the horizon. I’ll start prepping some food and get to cooking. I gotta say some of my favorite foods is either pizza or pasta and of course waffles!

Art !

I’m a digital artist. I started drawing art when I was about 13 I actually been in the art most of my life beginning with sculpting when I was about 6. It was a great tool for me to actually escape my family Too. They were a bit chaotic. I used to have Play-Doh or poster putty that I would take everywhere that would help me actually exert my energy and eventually I just started sculpting with it. I moved onto traditional drawings and paintings and then digital artwork. I used to actually doodle all over my homework which really upset my teachers, but I just ignore them because I’m a little devil for real. Over the years I bettered my skills and now it’s a great tool for me to just simply destress, and I even offer commissions!

Well, that’s a few tools that I figured I would share. I have a lot more, but I certainly cannot . These are some of my core tools that help me relax.
