I just got back from my dream trip, and let me tell you, walking the streets where Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah once roamed was absolutely surreal. My bucket list is officially checked, but I’m already planning my next visit! First stop, of course, was the iconic Mikaelson Mansion! While it's a private residence, just standing outside 837 Royal Street in the French Quarter gave me chills. You can almost hear the drama unfolding within those historic walls. It's truly breathtaking, with its beautiful architecture and classic New Orleans balconies. Make sure to snap a photo – it’s instantly recognizable! Then, I wandered over to St. Louis Cathedral, which you'll recognize as Davina's Church in the show. Located at 615 Pere Antoine Alley, it’s even more stunning in person. The sheer scale and beauty of it are incredible, and imagining all those powerful scenes happening right there was wild. The whole area around Jackson Square is just buzzing with energy, and it's easy to spend hours soaking it all in. Speaking of Jackson Square, this was another highlight. Not only is it a central part of the French Quarter's charm, but it's also home to that poignant Klaus & Elijah's Final Goodbye Scene Bench. I had to seek it out! It’s right next to the cathedral, and seeing the memorial plaque inscribed "IN MEMORY OF Klaus & Elijah Mikaelson ALWAYS & FOREVER" really hit me in the feels. It's a must-visit for any fan wanting to pay tribute to our favorite vampiric brothers. Another fantastic find was Marcel's Courtyard, which I discovered at Hotel Royal, 1006 Royal St. This charming brick courtyard with its fountain instantly transported me back to those intense scenes involving Marcel and his crew. It’s a beautiful, serene spot, perfect for imagining vampire gatherings or just enjoying a quiet moment away from the bustling streets. The French Quarter itself is like another character in the show. Every corner, every balcony, every gas lamp felt steeped in the history and magic that makes 'The Originals' so captivating. I spent so much time just walking around, trying to recognize different spots. The atmosphere is so unique, a perfect blend of gothic charm and vibrant life. My advice? Wear comfortable shoes, bring your camera (you'll want to capture everything!), and just let yourself get lost in the magic of New Orleans.
