Franky Franklin Frankenstein

I know what you're thinking – Franky Franklin Frankenstein? Yes, that's my sweet boy's full name, and he’s every bit as unique and wonderful as it sounds! When people hear it, they often do a double-take, expecting a scary monster, but one look at his curious and gentle expression, and they instantly fall in love. He's a handsome black dog with distinct white markings on his muzzle and chest, which just add to his charm. He loves nothing more than exploring, and I've captured so many 'franken dog' photos of him walking through green grass in our local wooded area, sometimes even posing by a large fallen log! Choosing his name was a bit of a whimsical decision. I wanted something memorable and a little bit grand, and Franky Franklin Frankenstein just stuck. Despite the name's famous literary origins, my Franky is the furthest thing from a creature of horror. He's a big softie, full of love and playful energy. He has the most expressive eyes that tell you exactly what he's thinking – usually, "Is it treat time yet?" or "Let's play fetch!" Life with Franky is full of joy and laughter. Our mornings usually start with a long walk, where he gets to sniff every interesting scent and greet other dogs with a happy tail wag. He's quite a social butterfly! In the afternoons, you'll often find him sunbathing in the yard, his shiny black coat gleaming, or curled up for a nap on his favorite blanket. Evenings are for cuddles on the couch and a bit of playtime before bed. I always make sure to snap a few pictures because every moment with him is precious. One of the funniest things about having a dog with such a distinctive name is the reactions we get. At the vet, they always pause when calling him. At the dog park, other owners often ask about it, and it's a great conversation starter! It really highlights how a name can sometimes precede a personality, but Franky always quickly shows them that he's just a loving, happy pup. He certainly doesn't have any mad scientist tendencies, unless you count his ability to "create" muddy paw prints after a rainy walk! For anyone looking for a loyal companion, I can't recommend adopting a dog enough. Every dog, regardless of their breed or background, brings so much light into your life. Franky, with his black fur and those adorable white patches, reminds me every day how much joy a pet can bring.
