"Shapes - Geometry - The Power of Architecture in Black and White."

Today we don't view the building as a "place."

But we see it as a pure shape.

Before it was a museum.

Before it was the opera house.

Before it was a glass pyramid.

It's "line, plane, curved loop, triangle, cylinder."

Black and white will pull out the shell of the color

And then there's just the structure of looking.

1.Louvre Pyramid - Triangular and Symmetrical Lines

This glass pyramid is the lesson of

Line + angle + balance

In black and white, we don't see luxury.

But we see a "skeleton of shape."

Every line plunges into the vertex.

The human brain loves symmetry.

Because it feels "stable and calm."

This is the language of Geometry that speaks directly to the brain.

Without going through words.

2.Sydney Opera House - Curved and Rhythmic Band

A shell-like roof.

In black and white, it becomes a rhythm of a repeated curve.

Curve creates "visual movement."

Unlike straight lines that provide strength,

The curve feels "flowing, tender, alive."

In black and white, we read architecture like music.

Light is a note.

Shadow is space

The shape is the melody.

This building is the lesson of

Cylindrical Form and Rhythm

Stacked layers like waves.

Light and shadow bars create a "repeat rhythm" (Repetition).

In black and white, we don't care about materials.

We care about "volume."

How heavy this thing is.

Float or sink

Spin or stop.

Look for lines before objects.

If cut off the color, then still beautiful = good structure
