📚 Day 4- Seeing in Black & White Look at the World Black and White
EMOTION - A picture that doesn't tell a story, but makes sense.
The camera took "light."
But good photos. Take a "feeling."
In the black and white picture
Emotions are more important than contrast.
More important than the camera
And more important than the place.
Today we will learn that
Why do some pictures make us stop watching?
It's nothing complicated.
Picture 1: The tribe dances around the fire.
Emotion = Raw Power (Primal Edition)
Fire is the source of humanity.
In this picture, what matters is not "people."
But movement, light, shadow.
In black and white
The fire will become "living white."
The shadow will become a "mystery."
📌 Something to notice.
The face doesn't have to be obvious.
The movement makes the image "sound."
Grain and contrast enhance emotional power.
👉 This picture doesn't have to be beautiful.
But to "feel strong."
Picture 2: Man holds wife's hand but eyes stop at others
Emotion = Complex Emotion
This is the power of black and white images at a high level.
No one's crying.
No one made a violent gesture.
But the audience "knew" something was going on.
📌 What this picture teaches
Hands holding together = bond
Glancing eyes = hesitation
The third character = the tension of the story.
In the black and white picture
You don't have to tell people what's going on.
Just composition a collision relationship.
This is the image that people will watch.
"Look long and think for yourself."
Picture 3: Couple sleeping on grass, looking at the North Star
Emotion = Serenity (Quiet Edition)
After a violent mood,
Humans need silence.
Negative space in this picture
More important than people
📌 Important lesson
Small Model → Big World
Darkness is not the enemy.
Every star doesn't have to be clear, just "enough to know that there is."
This image is not provocative.
But it makes people "want to be in that picture."
Day 4 summary
Nice black and white pictures. Doesn't tell everyone the same story.
But open up space for each person to feel different.
Image 1 = Raw temperament
Image 2 = Mood complex

To cut out the distractions.
And only the "heart of the picture" is left.

Don't let anyone express their emotions clearly.
Use sight, hand, or narrative distance.

No major events.
Ask yourself,
