Sound Series Day 4/7
Tactile Skin of Sound (Texture & Detail): Silky Sound vs Rough Sound
Image 1 - Silky Sound (Smooth / Silky Sound)
Some sound systems make everything "soft, slippery, flowing."
Silky singer's voice. Instruments don't baffle.
Listen for a long time, not tired, not tired.
Fits long listening during work or bedtime.
But the downside is that small details may be deleted.
Like a pretty velvet cloth, but hide the inner surface.
Image 2 - Sharp Sounds Detailed / Revealing Sound
Some sound systems show the "touch skin of sound" very clearly.
Hear the breath, the friction of the strings, the sound of the fingertips.
Like shining a flashlight into music
The advantage is realistic, exciting, seeing every dimension of sound.
But if the set is bad, the sound may be too sharp.
Image 3 - Balanced Texture (Natural Texture / Balanced Tone)
A really good sound system.
Not just smooth or sharp.
But "there's meat" to be tangible.
The sound is still soft enough to listen comfortably.
But still see the details of the skin, the sound.
Like real human skin, not plastic skin.
And not too rough skin.
🧠 Concept summary of Day 4
Sound quality is not just loudness or bass.
But on the "skin of the sound."
Silky sound = comfortable listening
Sharp voice = see the details
Real good sound = live, with natural touch skin.
🎯 Homework
Try turning on the acoustic / jazz / vocal music you like.
And listen carefully to these little things.
Sound, breath, singer.
The sound of fingers touching the guitar strings.
The sound of the end of a long sentence.
Ask yourself,
"Does it sound like real human skin or like varnished plastic?"
When you start hearing "the skin of the sound,"
Music will not just sound because
But something "tangible by ear."
And you start to know that each sound system
What's the difference in "personality"?
If you've ever listened to headphones that "everything looks right,"
But I didn't feel anything.
That's probably because the sound is still "no meat."
