8 Free Places to Learn Spanish Online 🇪🇸

I’m starting a language specific resource series! Today is free Spanish learning resources. They are listed from Beginner to Advanced.

Be sure to follow me for more and let me know what you’d like to see next.

1. Language Transfer - Spanish (Beginner)

90 free audio lessons that teach you all of the grammar concepts. You can download these or use their website. They also have a free app where you can listen.

2. StudySpanish (Beginner)

Amazing pronunciation, grammar and vocab resource. Learn from their text based lessons and verb drill exercises.

3. The Spanish Experiment (Beginner)

If you’re just getting your feet wet-try this site. They have basic lessons and kids stories that you can read to practice what you’ve learned.

4. Spanish Listening (Beginner-Intermediate)

Listen and read along to short paragraphs. Get quizzed, get flashcards and important vocab all on the same page.

5. Spanish Dict (Beginner-Intermediate)

Get vocab lists, conjugations and mini lessons here. There is a premium version, but the free has a lot of stuff. Explore regional Spanish lessons too from places like Spain, Argentina and Panama.

6. 123 Teach Me (Beginner-Intermediate)

I like using this for the sentence maker. Type in a word and get a bunch of sentences using it with the translation. Do mini games, reading comprehension quizzes and explore the resources for kids section.

7. Espanol Avanzado (Advanced)

Read curated texts in Spanish with their translation. Save your vocab words and take quizzes on what you read. You do have to create an account for full access, buts it’s free.

8. Bowdoin Spanish Grammar (Advanced)

The site looks a bit old, but the info is great. Get detailed explanations on grammar topics and quizzes. Be sure when you click a topic that you click “view full details”. Otherwise the info will seem really short.

... Read moreWhen I first started my Spanish learning journey, I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there. But after some digging, I discovered that you don't need expensive apps or classes to make real progress. The key is finding free resources that fit your learning style and using them consistently. I wanted to share some deeper insights on how I've leveraged the platforms mentioned, especially for those of you searching for specific features like 'language transfer complete Spanish course' or 'studyspanish.com grammar lessons.' Diving Deeper into Language Transfer & the 'Thinking Method' Many of you are probably curious about 'Language Transfer Spanish audio lessons' and their unique 'thinking method.' I can't stress enough how revolutionary this approach is for beginners. Instead of rote memorization, it guides you to intuitively understand how Spanish works by drawing parallels with English. I found their 'complete Spanish course' incredibly effective for building a strong foundational understanding of grammar concepts without getting bogged down in complex rules. Just listening to those 90 audio lessons felt like a conversation with a super patient tutor, helping me to think in Spanish from day one. I even found myself using the same thinking patterns when trying to form sentences later on. Mastering Grammar and Vocab with StudySpanish & SpanishDict For those of you looking for solid 'studyspanish.com grammar lessons' or 'spanishdict grammar lessons,' these two platforms are goldmines. After getting a grasp of the basics with Language Transfer, I used StudySpanish.com extensively for its detailed text-based lessons and verb drill exercises. It's fantastic for really cementing those tricky verb conjugations! SpanishDict, on the other hand, became my go-to for vocabulary lists and quick lookups. Their interactive grammar lessons are also brilliant for intermediate learners, offering clear explanations and examples. I loved how I could explore regional Spanish nuances, which isn't something every free resource offers. Expanding Your Learning Experience Don't forget the other gems! The Spanish Experiment is perfect if you're just getting started or need something light and fun, especially their 'kid's stories' feature which helps with basic comprehension. For improving your listening skills, Spanish Listening provides short audio clips with text, quizzes, and various accents – it's a great way to train your ear. And if you're like me and love to play around with sentence structure, the 'sentence maker' on 123 Teach Me is incredibly useful. It shows you a word in context, which truly helps with practical usage. Stepping Up to Advanced Spanish When I felt ready to tackle more advanced topics, Espanol Avanzado and Bowdoin Spanish Grammar were invaluable. Espanol Avanzado offers 'real-world articles' with dual-text, which is fantastic for expanding your vocabulary and understanding complex sentence structures in context. I loved saving my new 'vocabulary words' there. Bowdoin Grammar, despite its classic look, provides incredibly detailed explanations on various 'grammar topics' that you won't find easily elsewhere. Just remember to click 'view full details' for comprehensive insights. My biggest tip is to create a 'learning Spanish notebook' to jot down new words, grammar rules, and phrases you find interesting. Consistency is key, even if it's just 15-30 minutes a day. By combining these free resources, you can build a comprehensive and effective Spanish learning plan without spending a dime. ¡Buena suerte!
