And don't even get me started on the video quality! It was pretty basic, mostly suitable for quick clips rather than anything cinematic. No fancy stabilization here, just point-and-shoot. Fast forward to my Fujifilm X-S10 – it's a completely different beast! The first thing that blew me away, just like I mentioned in my quick thoughts, are the colors. Fujifilm's film simulations are just magical; they give your photos so much character straight out of the camera. Whether I'm shooting a vibrant cactus or a cozy desk setup, the colors just pop with a beautiful, natural feel. This camera handles low light like a champ thanks to its larger APS-C sensor and impressive processing, making 'light intake' a non-issue in most situations. My photos come out crisp and vibrant, even in trickier lighting. Beyond the aesthetics, the technological leap is immense. The Fujifilm X-S10 boasts in-body image stabilization (IBIS), which is a game-changer for handheld shots and video. Speaking of video, it shoots beautiful 4K, making it perfect for vlogging or more serious creative projects. The autofocus is lightning-fast and accurate, a far cry from the more deliberate focusing of older models. It truly shows how far Fujifilm cameras and digital technology have come. So, who are these cameras for today? The Nikon Coolpix L310, or similar 2010s digital cameras, still has a charm for those who love a nostalgic, perhaps slightly retro, aesthetic or just need a simple point-and-shoot without fuss. But if you're looking for incredible image quality, versatile video capabilities, and those stunning Fujifilm colors, the X-S10 (or any modern mirrorless) is absolutely worth the investment.
