A WIP set of turkey wing feather earrings and pendant. I am Metis Nation of Ontario and my teachings are such that you will never see me sell medicines or medicine bags or tools for working with medicines.

That said my teachings also deck my friends out in my artwork if they let me!

I make jewlery and leather goods for friends and sale. I especially love taking scraps from hunters and transforming them into beautiful pieces like these for wear by kin of hunters!

In my favourite story my dad every made up one night, he shared a tale about a turkey who was just toooo pretty and with the help of a few trickster spirits, Nanaboozhoo and his friends managed to steal a few feathers for them all to wear. Kind of a different take on raindbow fish, but eventually Turkey learned to be bashful and this is why they blush when they see cute girls. He is naked of most of his prettiest feathers because he couldnt stop globbling on about their beauty to the girl turkeys and anyone who would listen.

Funny enough, the sweet lady birds loved their dressed down counterparts even more than whwn they were all superfied and fancy... it was their big brave loving hearts that drew them in most.

So, I try to give my heart out in those feathers, making the prettiest things I can of something already stunning so the whole world can be a little lovlier.

Next up I want to learn to make backings of my own from cedar and other pretty wood cuts here!
