Halo 2 LEGENDARY
Oh man, Mantle's Approach on Legendary difficulty in Halo 4? That mission nearly broke me! I remember countless attempts, yelling at my TV, and just feeling utterly defeated. But after hours of grinding and learning from every single death, I finally conquered it. And trust me, if I can do it, you can too! I wanted to share my personal strategy, hoping it helps you push through this epic finale. First off, weapon choice is absolutely critical. Forget about just picking up whatever drops. You want precision weapons for Promethean Knights and Crawlers, like the Battle Rifle or DMR. For Watchers, a Plasma Pistol overcharge followed by a headshot from a precision weapon is your best friend. Always hold onto those power weapons like the Incineration Cannon or Binary Rifle when you find them. Don't waste shots; save them for Knights or specific enemy groups. Learning when to swap for a grenade or a different weapon quickly can be the difference between life and death. I found that having a LightRifle and a Plasma Pistol was a great combo for most of the mission. The initial sections are brutal. You'll face swarms of Crawlers and Watchers, often backed up by Knights. Prioritize the Watchers first – they rebuild shields and revive enemies, making fights drag on forever. Use cover relentlessly. This isn't a mission where you can run and gun, especially on Legendary. Peek, shoot, hide, recharge shields. Grenades are your best friends here. Plasma grenades for sticking Knights, frag grenades for clearing groups of Crawlers. Then comes the Mantis section. This part can feel overwhelming, but it's manageable with a bit of foresight. Don't be afraid to keep your distance and use its rockets. The machine gun is good for smaller enemies, but rockets are key for Knights and turrets. Watch out for enemy Ghosts and Wraiths; dodge their shots and hit them with everything you've got. I learned the hard way that letting my Mantis get destroyed meant an almost certain death for me, so keep an eye on its health. If it's taking too much damage, sometimes it's better to bail out, clear some enemies on foot, and then get back in. The final confrontation with the Didact is more about timing and execution than raw firepower. Remember those button prompts you sometimes see in games? Well, during the QTEs, precision is key. Make sure you're ready to hold the right button at the right moment. The trick is to be methodical, clear the surrounding enemies first, and then focus on the objective. It’s less of a boss fight in the traditional sense and more of an environmental puzzle under pressure. This mission truly tested my patience, but the satisfaction of finally seeing that ending cinematic was incredible. Remember to take breaks, learn the enemy spawns, and don't be afraid to experiment with different weapon loadouts. Good luck, fellow Spartan! You've got this!
