Halo 2 LEGENDARY
Oh my goodness, Halo 2 Legendary... just thinking about it gives me flashbacks! But seriously, if you're venturing into this masterpiece on its hardest setting, you're in for a wild, frustrating, and incredibly rewarding ride. I recently decided to tackle it again, and let me tell you, it's still as brutal as I remember. But with a little strategy and a lot of patience, it's totally conquerable! The biggest thing I learned (and re-learned!) is that Legendary isn't about running and gunning. It's about tactical engagement, knowing when to push, and more importantly, when to retreat. Health management is key – always be looking for health packs, and don't be afraid to save that checkpoint reload if things go south quickly. I always try to pick off enemies from a distance when possible to thin out their numbers before committing to close quarters. When it comes to weapons, my absolute lifeline on Legendary is the plasma pistol-battle rifle combo. Overcharge the plasma pistol to strip shields, then quickly switch to the BR for a headshot. This works wonders against Elites and Brutes, making seemingly impossible encounters manageable. For Flood, I swear by the shotgun and energy sword; nothing clears those hordes faster or more efficiently. Don't underestimate the Carbine either; it's a headshot machine if you can land your shots consistently, especially against Grunts and Jackals. And always, always carry a power weapon if you find one, like a rocket launcher or sniper rifle, saving its ammo for critical moments or boss encounters. Grenades are your best friends! Plasma grenades are fantastic for sticking shielded enemies or groups, while fragmentation grenades are perfect for flushing out enemies from cover or dealing splash damage to clustered foes. I always try to open an engagement with a well-placed grenade to gain an early advantage. Melee is also surprisingly useful – once an enemy's shields are down, a quick melee can save you precious ammo, especially against smaller foes or when you're cornered and need to create space. I remember the infamous 'Regret' mission, especially the gondola section. It took me countless tries! My strategy there was to clear each section methodically, using the limited cover provided, and prioritizing the shielded enemies first. Another tough one was the 'Gravemind' section with all the Flood. For that, sticking with high-damage, close-range weapons like the shotgun and sword was non-negotiable. It's also worth remembering your AI teammates, even if they sometimes feel useless – sometimes they can distract enemies long enough for you to get a crucial flank. Even vehicle sections on Legendary are brutal. For the Warthog runs, I found it best to either drive slowly and let my gunner clear the way, or if I'm the gunner, communicate with a friend (if co-op) to avoid unnecessary damage. The Scorpion tank feels invincible until you're swarmed by Banshees and Wraiths. Prioritize those aerial threats first! My lesson there was never to overextend and always seek cover when reloading, even in a tank. Yes, Halo 2 Legendary will test your patience, your aiming skills, and your sanity. There will be moments you want to throw your controller across the room! But the feeling of finally beating that one seemingly impossible encounter, or completing the entire campaign, is unmatched. It truly makes you appreciate the incredible design of the game. If you're up for the challenge, embrace the grind, learn from every death, and you'll eventually conquer it. Good luck, Spartans! You'll need it!
