End-of-year book Stats!

I am quite amazed with myself! I started this journey in June. I have always loved reading but never had time for it. I would just forget to, or I didn't know what I wanted to read or get with my Audible credits. I started rereading one of my favorite series and just kept going from there. I don't remember why I got Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez but I am glad I did! It's one of my favorite books of the year and kickstarted my love of reading again!

I have fallen in love with so many authors and book series! So many of them I want to reread (hopefully I have time for them lol) I am very grateful to Libby for being such an amazing resource. without Libby, I wouldn't have read as many books as I did! Thank you to all these amazing authors who surprised me so much and changed my life for the better! I look forward to reading more of your works and rereading my favorites! I look forward to what this years reading has in store for me with favorite authors and new (to me) authors and debut authors. I hope to one day be on someone else's reading list like this!

2025/1/4 Edited to

... Read moreIt's absolutely thrilling to look back at my reading journey and see how far I've come, especially with my 'Year in Books' stats! If you're wondering how to get your own incredible reading wrap-up, platforms like Goodreads are amazing for tracking. Simply log your books throughout the year, and they'll compile all your data into a fantastic summary. It’s not just about the number of books; it’s about seeing your average rating, the genres you gravitated towards, and even the longest or shortest books you tackled. My own recap, showing 81 books read and 846.72 hours spent, was such a motivator! It really helps visualize your literary adventures and plan for the next year. Speaking of amazing reads, one of the biggest delights this year was diving deep into the world of authors like Katee Owen. Her books, especially the 'Pucking Around' series, completely captivated me. If you're into sports romance with a deliciously dark and steamy edge, you absolutely have to check out her work. Pucking Around itself was one of my longest reads at 880 pages, but every single page was worth it. The characters are complex, the banter is top-notch, and the emotional rollercoasters are real. Following that up with Pucking Wild was a no-brainer, and it truly delivered as a fantastic sequel. Her ability to craft engaging plots and intense relationships makes her a standout in contemporary and dark romance. If you're on the hunt for your next book obsession, especially something that pushes boundaries, Katee Owen is definitely an author to explore. For anyone looking to boost their own reading stats or just get back into the habit, I've learned a few tricks. First, don't be afraid to reread a beloved series – it's what kicked off my journey! Second, leverage resources like Libby. It's been a game-changer for me, offering thousands of e-books and audiobooks for free from your local library. Seriously, I wouldn't have read nearly as many books without it! Third, don't shy away from different genres. While I loved the romance, I also explored books like Where the Crawdads Sing as my first read of the year, getting me into the flow. It's also fun to categorize your reads. My wrap-up included everything from my favorite book, *Out on a Limb*, to the biggest surprise like *Still Beating*. Even the books that challenged me, like The Ritual (my least favorite), contributed to my overall reading experience. And for those emotional journeys, Just for the Summer made me cry, while Lights Out provided some much-needed laughter. Visually appealing covers, like the one for *Hexed*, also add to the joy of reading. It’s all about finding what sparks your interest and just enjoying the ride. I hope my journey inspires you to track your own 'My Year in Books' and find your next favorite author or series!
