My reading stats

5/2 Edited to

... Read moreReaching the milestone of 55 books in a year has been a truly rewarding experience for me, and sharing my reading journey has helped me stay motivated and connected with fellow book lovers. One thing I found particularly helpful is tracking various stats such as page count, format, and genre. For example, in April alone, I read a mix of fiction and nonfiction with nearly 92% fiction, and I consumed over half through audio formats. This variety keeps my routine fresh and exciting. I use StoryGraph to log my reads and analyze data like average book length and reading time. On average, many of my books were around 350 to 499 pages, with an average finish time of about 5 days, which suits my schedule well. Keeping track of these numbers helped me set realistic goals and improve my reading speed gradually without sacrificing enjoyment. Genres I dove into ranged broadly—from contemporary romance and science fiction to LGBTQIA+ narratives—reflecting my diverse tastes and willingness to explore new authors and themes. Highlighting books like Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" and some bestsellers really enriched my experience, sparking thoughtful reflection along the way. Sharing monthly wrap-ups on platforms such as YouTube offers an interactive way to discuss my impressions, recommend favorites, and connect with other readers. If you’re considering setting a reading challenge, I encourage you to track your stats and join book clubs or reading communities. It adds a layer of fun and accountability. Ultimately, reading so many books in a year has not only expanded my knowledge and imagination but also improved my discipline and daily routine. Whether you prefer print, digital, or audio formats, embracing the diversity of reading options can be a game-changer in maintaining momentum throughout the year.
