Peace in 30 Minutes

Some days, the stress feels nonstop. Between school,long commutes and deadlines, and just trying to keep everything together, it’s like my brain never gets a break. I wake up already thinking about everything I have to do, and it’s exhausting. It’s not always easy to find peace when life feels like a constant to-do list. But I’ve found that giving myself even 15 minutes to do my makeup helps me reset. 💄 It’s my little pocket of calm before the chaos.

For me, doing my makeup is more than a beauty routine, it’s a moment where I can slow down and just be. Every brush stroke helps me feel grounded. Blending my concealer is like blending out the stress. Lining my lips gives me back a sense of control. By the end, it’s not about how I look, it’s about how much more in tune I feel with myself.

But if makeup isn’t your thing, there are so many small ways to protect your peace and calm your mind:

🌿 Step outside for 5 minutes—fresh air really helps

📓 Brain-dump your thoughts in a journal, no filter

🧘🏾‍♀️ Try a quick breathing exercise (4-7-8 always helps me!)

🛁 Take a long shower and use your favorite body wash—make it a ritual

🎧 Play a playlist that brings you comfort (R&B, lo-fi, whatever feels soft)

📖 Read a few pages of something that inspires or relaxes you

📱Put your phone on Do Not Disturb for an hour—it’s okay to unplug

👯 Call a friend just to vent or laugh, no pressure to be “strong”

The truth is, showing up for yourself doesn’t always mean big acts. Sometimes it’s the small, gentle things that make the biggest difference.
