skincare i keep going back to🧴

these are genuinely the skincare products + habits that changed my skin the most 🤍

for years i thought better skin came from doing more:

- more products

- more exfoliating

- more treatments

but my skin improved the most when i simplified everything and stayed consistent.

i had constant texture, redness, irritation, and made things worse by picking at my skin and constantly trying to “fix” it.

what helped:

🧴gentle cleansers

🫧repairing my skin barrier

💧prescription topicals

🚨red light therapy

⭐️consistency

products:

- sofie pavitt cleanser + mandelic acid

- mediheal toner pads

- omnilux contour mask

- omega moisturizer

simple worked better for me.

... Read moreThrough my personal journey with skincare, I've realized that maintaining a simple yet effective routine is often the key to healthy skin. Initially, I thought the answer was piling on more products and treatments. However, this approach only worsened my skin’s texture and redness, leading to irritation and frustration. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is the importance of gentle cleansing. Harsh cleansers can strip the skin barrier, exacerbating inflammation and sensitivity. Switching to a mild cleanser, like the Sofie Pavitt cleanser mentioned, helped soothe my skin and reduce irritation. Repairing the skin barrier was another game changer. Using moisturizers rich in ceramides and omega fatty acids, such as the Omega moisturizer I incorporated, restored hydration and protected my skin from environmental stressors. This step is crucial in preventing further damage and calming persistent redness. I also found prescription topicals indispensable. These targeted treatments addressed specific concerns, whether for texture or inflammation, providing results that over-the-counter options couldn't match. In addition, red light therapy with tools like the Omnilux contour mask accelerated skin healing and boosted collagen production, improving overall skin tone and texture. I noticed that regular sessions made my skin look more radiant and even. Consistency was the final piece of the puzzle. Rather than constantly changing products in search of quick fixes, sticking to a gentle routine daily allowed gradual but lasting improvements. This slow and steady approach supported my skin’s natural repair process without overwhelming it. Overall, embracing a minimalistic skincare routine focusing on barrier repair, gentle cleansing, effective treatments, and red light therapy can be transformative. If you're struggling with irritation, texture, or persistent redness, consider simplifying your steps and prioritizing consistent care as I did—with patience and dedication, your skin can truly improve.
