26’ Cleanse: Day 1

This kid is such a vibe lol.

Day 1 went better than I expected. No social media all day, locked in at home. Actually completed my productive app & some of my to-do list.

I was a bit grumpy as the day progressed, my babes sent me down for a nap around 3. I think that was the first time I’ve had a nap in months that didn’t have children next to me haha.

Things I found odd and make me feel reassured in my decision to shut off my socials, I would pick up my phone and immediately select either IG or Facebook. Opal tells you how may time you attempt to open the apps, the numbers are embarrassing. Even if I was opening my phone for a text or a call I would close those apps then immediately try to open those two. It’s unfortunate I had that much of a habit 😒.

I told big man I was going to break our streak on TikTok we are in the mid 200s, but I think that’s makes it more imperative to me I need to break that doom scrolling.

Learning to resist habitual app opens helps reshape daily routines to be more intentional and less reactionary. It’s a reset that allows space for reconnecting with real-life relationships, rest, and interests beyond the screen. For anyone considering a similar detox, remember to be gentle with yourself and celebrate small victories—each step away from social media is a step toward regaining control over your time and mental energy.
