Think I found the best ramen spot in Michigan
Blown away by how delicious the Champon ramen was at Hotaru. It was proper spicy and just so good.
Very generous on their portion size too, their pork katsu curry came with extra beef in the curry!
📍Hotaru, 39723 Grand River Ave, Novi Michigan
Visiting Hotaru in Novi was truly a memorable experience for me as a ramen enthusiast. From the moment I stepped in, the busy atmosphere signaled a popular spot, which always adds to the excitement. Starting with their chicken karaage paired with a special mayo dip was a delightful way to begin—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The highlight, of course, was the Champon ramen. Known for its spicy chicken broth enriched with a mix of seafood and fresh vegetables, this bowl was rich, hearty, and satisfying. The broth had the perfect balance of spice and depth, which really brought out the umami flavors. Portion size definitely exceeded my expectations, ensuring a filling meal. Another standout was the pork katsu curry, generously accompanied by tender chunks of beef that complemented the savory curry sauce perfectly. The blend of pork and beef made it a unique twist on a classic dish, and the tender textures made every bite comforting. For anyone exploring Michigan’s ramen scene, Hotaru offers an authentic taste with generous servings and a vibrant menu that’s worth returning to. I look forward to trying their other ramen bowls like Chick-Chick Ramen and Ton-Ton Ramen on my next visit to explore more regional Japanese flavors.
