Hi everyone! I’m still buzzing from the incredible experience of bringing my latest project to life, and I just couldn't wait to share more with you all. As you might have seen, I recently starred as Malorie in a powerful new film production, deeply inspired by Tyler Perry's 'Beauty in Black.' This wasn't just any project; it was a passion project, a tribute, and an amazing journey from start to finish. Playing Malorie was such an enriching experience. She's a character with so many layers, and diving into her world truly challenged me as an actress. I spent a lot of time preparing, really trying to understand her motivations and emotions. It's moments like these, where you push your boundaries, that remind you of the importance of the education and training you need to succeed in this demanding industry. Every acting class, every workshop, every piece of advice I've received, it all comes together in roles like this. Working alongside such an incredibly talented cast and crew was an absolute dream. Forever Hues, who played Roy, brought such depth and intensity to his character, and our scenes together truly resonated. And Andre Richie, not only did he star as Calvin, but he was also one of our executive producers and directors, and the brilliant mind who penned most of the script! His vision for this project was infectious, and it truly created a collaborative and inspiring set. Seeing him bring everything to life, from writing to directing, was just phenomenal. I also have to give a huge shout-out to our entire production team, including Nathan Sakowicz from @innateperception and Michael Gorczynski from @miragemediaphx, who were instrumental in making this happen. From the stunning cinematography (thanks, Nathan, for your drone piloting skills!) to the meticulous editing, every single person poured their heart and soul into this film. It truly felt like a family working towards a common goal. The original 'Beauty in Black' by Tyler Perry is such a profound and impactful story, and our aim was to honor that while bringing our own unique perspective. It’s a narrative that speaks to so many, touching on themes of resilience, strength, and self-discovery. We wanted to create something that would not only entertain but also spark conversations and perhaps even inspire others, just as the original inspired us. One of my favorite memories from the shoot involved a particularly emotional scene with Forever Hues. We rehearsed it so many times, trying to get every nuance just right, and when we finally filmed it, the energy on set was palpable. It felt raw, real, and I think that authenticity will really come through on screen. There were also plenty of laughs and camaraderie off-camera, which made the long hours fly by. I'm incredibly proud of what we've created together. This project is a testament to passion, collaboration, and the power of storytelling.
