Picadillo *recipe* 👩🏼‍🍳🥘

Just a little fyi- I don’t measure anything…I cook with my heart! I hope you enjoy my version of Picadillo! 💚

Ingredients:

Sofrito

Recaito

Minced garlic

1-1 1/2 lbs hamburger (or meat of choice)

Jamón seasoning

Sazón seasoning

Ground cumin

Oregano

Manzanilla olives

2-3 medium/large potatoes.

How to:

In a large pan, heat some oil and sauté a heaping spoonful of recaito, sofrito and minced garlic.

Brown your ground beef and then strain.

With your hamburger strained and back in the pan, add 1 packet of jamón and 1-1 1/2 packets of sazón seasoning and mix.

Generously add in ground cumin and oregano and mix.

Add your chopped potatoes into the pan and add about a cup of water (you want the water to be higher than the meat put not completely covering your potatoes- I usually use a regular glass for this).

Place a lid to a pot over all of the meat and potatoes. (smaller than the pan but big enough to cover the contents in the pan)

Bring to a boil.

Once boiling, add your green olives (I usually use 12-15 olives) and pour a little of the olive juice in as well.

Continue cooking with the lid on, on medium heat until the potatoes are soft and the liquid has thickened.

Served best with white rice 🍚
