In my head I’m 25 lol acting vlog! Come to my callback with me! #vlog #actinglife #actorslife #comewithme #grwm
Attending callbacks as an actor, especially as a mom, can be both exciting and frustrating. Hollywood often tends to typecast women, particularly moms, into stereotypical roles that don't fully represent our diverse experiences. From my own journey, I've noticed how many casting opportunities seem to ignore the depth and complexity moms can bring to a role. It's important for us actors to stay confident and true to ourselves despite these industry biases. In the vlog, I shared moments of preparing for my callback—getting ready, running lines, and dealing with the anxiety that comes with waiting to hear if you booked the part. Being in your mid-20s mentally or emotionally doesn't always align with the roles that Hollywood offers, especially when they expect a certain 'box' to fit in. This is why sharing authentic stories about acting life is valuable; it shows that we don't need to conform to narrow expectations. For fellow actors, especially moms, my advice is to keep pushing for parts that resonate with you and to remember that your unique perspective is an asset. The casting process might not always reflect your reality, but persistence, preparation, and self-belief are key. Embracing the 'actorslife' also means accepting rejection and turning it into motivation—sometimes you don’t get booked, but every callback is a step closer to the right role.
