From my own experience, I can say representation truly matters—not just in media but also in personal support networks. Seeing different body types and hearing varied stories within the #t1d community helps reduce stigma and encourages a more inclusive understanding of the condition. One of the toughest moments I've faced is when my blood sugar goes low unexpectedly, which I often refer to as "going low." Preparing for these moments involves setting myself up for success—carrying glucose tablets, monitoring with my CGM, and sharing my situation with close friends and family. This awareness and normalization make these challenges more manageable. Results from consistent monitoring are live and real, affecting not only physical health but mental well-being too. Sharing experiences online and offline creates a supportive environment where people with Type 1 diabetes can connect and empower each other. Normalizing all body types and diverse experiences affirms that no one is alone in their journey.
