Fatherhood From the Eyes of a Mother
As a mother, my role sets in much sooner than a father. I can feel my hormones changing, my body changing, my life changing before me. I mourned the loss of my old self very early in my pregnancy. Though fathers do understand life will change, I realized most of that shock didn't hit until the baby was born. That's when fathers start to transform and learn their role in a child's life. I love seeing how my partner grows and has settled into his fatherhood.
Just like motherhood, fatherhood is a thankless job at times. The hard work starts with providing for the family as well as learning how to nurture a young life. Constantly comparing themselves to other fathers and trying to live up to the mother's expectations can be tiring.
A lot of emotions come to my mind when trying to find the words to describe what having a good partner and Father of my child means to me. I'm full of gratitude for having a partner who loves my child as much as I love him.

Fatherhood is as much about emotional growth as it is about providing for a family. Many mothers notice their partners stepping into their roles only after the baby arrives, highlighting a different timeline in the emotional journey of parenting. Fathers often grapple with expectations, both from themselves and their partners, which can lead to significant stress. However, when fathers embrace their roles, it leads to deep connections with their children—nurturing bonds that are invaluable. As society continues to evolve, the stereotypes of fatherhood are breaking down, allowing for a more nuanced perspective. Modern fathers are increasingly involved in child-rearing, demonstrating love and care in ways that were once reserved for mothers. This shift not only benefits children, who thrive in environments with engaged parents, but also strengthens family dynamics. When fathers actively participate in parenting, it fosters a partnership based on mutual support and respect. It's essential to recognize and celebrate the various ways in which different fathers contribute to their children's lives. Each story of fatherhood is unique, with its own set of challenges and triumphs. By sharing experiences, mothers and fathers can create a supportive community that encourages open conversation about parenting roles and the joys of raising children together.
