Long story short

... Read moreEscaping corporate life is often viewed as a major turning point, and personally, it was no different for me. Initially, there was a sense of smug satisfaction—feeling like I had broken free from the rigid structures and relentless pressures of the traditional workplace. But beyond that, the real value came from the gradual rediscovery of what truly matters to me, beyond the daily grind. Many who have left corporate careers share a similar experience of relief and renewed motivation. Without the constraints of corporate hierarchies, I found more room to pursue creative projects and focus on personal growth. Of course, the transition isn’t always smooth—there were moments of uncertainty about financial stability and professional identity. Yet, these challenges pushed me to develop resilience and embrace flexibility in my career path. For anyone considering a similar leap, it’s important to prepare not just financially but mentally. Self-reflection plays a huge role in ensuring you understand what you want out of this new phase. Whether it’s freelance work, entrepreneurship, or a completely new field, having a clear purpose makes the journey rewarding. Ultimately, escaping corporate life freed me from feeling boxed in and allowed me to cultivate a more authentic and fulfilling existence. If you’re feeling stuck or constrained, exploring alternative career paths could be the key to unlocking new levels of happiness and success.

It’s all a scam. I participated in the last #commentchallenge back in July. Not only have I STILL NOT received the Lemo doll, but they also haven’t sent me the $10 gift card for Amazon I won and the flip flops ALSO back in July. It’s now September and still nothing. Not a email, not an update. No

A matcha drink and a sandwich with a side salad are on a pink outdoor table in front of Long Story Short Cafe, a Boca Raton local cafe offering student discounts.
An iced coffee drink with a straw sits on a marble table inside the cafe, featuring a green wall with flowers and a neon sign in the background.
An indoor wall decorated with hanging plants on wooden ladders and a 'but first Coffee' sign, creating an aesthetic and cozy vibe.

memorable short story collections
I fell in love with short stories in college, and have found some incredible collections in recent years that I plan to revisit again and again. My favorite part about short stories is that you can take your time making it through each collection. I often will read one story and then switch to a no

Short Books (all under 200 pages)
Lately, my attention span has been fighting for its life. 😮‍💨 I want to read, but the idea of committing to a 500-page novel? Feels impossible. So I started picking up short books—and honestly? Game-changer. There’s something about a book that’s under 200 pages but still packs an emotional punch

more of my favorite short story collections 📚
Short stories are the least intimidating type of book in my opinion. They are structured so you can dive into to a quick 20 page story before moving on to something completely new. There is also the added benefit of not needing to keep track of characters or plots for very long and the flexibility
